Years ago, San Mateo County Horsemen’s Association has
adopted the Clarkia
Trail in Edgewood County Park. Adoption
of the trail means that SMCHA
has agreed to take responsibility to actively monitor and maintain this
trail.
Edgewood
County Park and Natural Preserve is famous in the greater San Francisco
Bay Area as the place to see fields of spring wildflowers, but the
importance and meaning of the preserve to the community go beyond viewing
the wildflowers. For more information on the park, go to www.friendsofedgewood.org
Please
join us for a continental breakfast at the entrance to the Clarkia Trail
on Canada Road at 9:00 am.
If the holes can be predrilled, we will
be installing a knee high fence at the top of Clarkia. If not, we’ll be
weed whipping along the trail edges
Be
sure to bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, etc.
SMCHA will provide refreshments and water.
A
special note for our Junior Members & Parents:
Many of the schools now require students to participate in community
service activities. Helping out with our Clarkia Trail Clean-Up Days
is a perfect opportunity for your kids to fulfill their community service
requirements and help maintain a great equestrian trail!
