WESTERN SCHOOLING SHOW HIGH POINT SPONSORED AND AWARD PRESENTED BY JOAN McLAREN HORSE TRAINING * Daily High-point classes: 2, 4, 5, (7, 8 or 9), 10, 12 (15, 16 or 17)18, 20, 21, (26, 27, or 28) & 29 ** FREE Clinic Classes: Free to contestants who have entered Halter #2, Showmanship #4, Equitation, Pleasure or Trail Classes *** Maiden High Point Award (Never-Won-A-First in any of these classes prior to May 17, 2009): Classes 11, 13, 19 and 30 SMCHA Series High Point: This year we will be offering an SMCHA Series High Point Award. The series includes high points for: Western – May 17 and August 23 shows English – August 2 and August 23 shows. Direction to Webb Ranch: Hwy 280, exit @ Alpine Road, turn West toward hills. Webb Ranch is first driveway on the right. Follow the Webb Ranch Road about 1.5 miles to the show ring. Follow the signs. Webb Ranch Rules: Keep horses off the lawn and picnic area. DO NOT tie horses to fence rails. No wandering in barns where privately owned horses are boarded. Small children must be supervised at all times. Please drive 5 MPH everywhere on the ranch. NO SMOKING ON RANCH. Entry forms also available at www.SMCHA.org. Please use one form per horse and rider. SHOW RULES: Contestants MUST wear long sleeve shirts, boots, hat or helmet. Chaps and silver are NOT required. All classes except Gimmick are ridden one-handed in a shank bit. Horses under 5 years may be ridden two-handed in bosal or snaffle. No twisted wire snaffle in any class except Gimmick Never-Won-a-First means at any show in that event. Walk/Jog (W/J) classes CAN cross enter into Walk/Jog/Lope (W/J/L) classes Gimmick class: You may use any humane training device and you may ride two-handed with gimmick. Report Tack Changes to gate or management two classes prior to your class. No stallions or dogs. NOTES: All patterns/obstacles for Showmanship, Horsemanship and Trail classes will be posted at the registration area by 7 a.m. Class #11,13, 30: Never-won-a-first these classes in any show prior to May 17, 2009. Class #19: Never-won-a-first in Pleasure means present rider has never won a first with that horse. Class #25: Green Trail means First or Second-year horses or riders.
